THE EARNEST PRAYER OF THE RIGHTEOUS IS POWERFUL

And being in an agony he prayed more earnestly; and his sweat became like drops of blood

While I was before the Lord praying the word of the Lord came to me saying,” You will only get from Me what is really important to you.”

The Lord was challenging the lack of earnestness and fervency in my prayer. It wasn’t that my prayer was brief it was just that I was missing one essential ingredient.

Then I heard Him say again,”The prayer that does not touch you cannot touch Me.”

This began a turning point in my prayer ministry when I heard the Lord say the word “Earnest
The Lord showed me why James died and why apostle Peter almost died too and how Elijah could bring down rain!

THE PRAYER THAT BREAKS PEOPLE FREE FROM PRISON:

Lets see Acts 12: 1-5:

Now about that time Herod the king stretched out his hand to harass some from the church. 2 Then he “killed James” the brother of John with the sword. 3 And because he saw that it pleased the Jews, he proceeded further to seize Peter also. Now it was during the Days of Unleavened Bread. 4 So when he had arrested him, he put him in prison, and delivered him to four squads of soldiers to keep him, intending to bring him before the people after Passover.
5 Peter was therefore kept in prison, but earnest prayer was offered to God for him by the church.

The lack of power in our life is traceable to the lack of earnestness in our prayer life; we pray but our heart is not really in it! James died because the church could not pray earnestly to God for him. It was the death of James that gave the church the impetus to pray the earnest prayer that releases God’s power to save and actualize His will.

When the early church suddenly realized how important Peter was to them and how much they wanted him alive they began to pray earnestly to God for Him not wimpy and hungry prayers. This is not the prayer you prayer while thinking of what next to eat; its the prayer you pray as if your life depends on it!

THE PRAYER THAT STOPS RAIN:

James 5:17-18 (NKJV)
” Elijah was a man with a nature like ours, and he prayed earnestly that it would not rain; and it did not rain on the land for three years and six months. 18 And he prayed again, and the heaven gave rain, and the earth produced its fruit”.

Elijah wanted it not to rain and he knew the only way to get rain was through “earnest prayer” Whenever you want something that is under the influence of an external force it takes an earnest, fervent prayer to get it!

THE ONLY WAY TO STOP RAIN AND ALSO TO GET RAIN IS THROUGH EARNEST PRAYER; IT HAS NOT CHANGED!

God will give you what you REALLY want and the proof that you want it is the earnestness in your prayer! It was said about Peter, ” but earnest prayer was offered to God for him by the church.”

NOW I SEE WHY MANY PEOPLE SUFFER:

Let me tell you, I have been in several churches where prayer is treated very lightly. When you ask people to pray they do it with disinterest and with a lackadaisical attitude. Some people like to look around when asked to pray while others murmur only few words.
No wonder the powerlessness, no wonder the failure, no wonder the lack of revival, no wonder…

BURNING DESIRE IS THE KEY:

I asked the Lord, How can I pray the earnest prayer and He said, “Burning Desire”

You see, we need a burning desire to really see what we pray about. Burning desire is the cure for distraction and wandering of mind in prayers.

In our closet we pray earnest prayers and in the public we prayer the gentle believing prayer; not the other way round!

So I conclude by saying, don’t begin praying until you really want it; when you want it so badly God will give you.

**Ruth & Naomi** Special article for the month of March!**

The easiest way to miss out of your destiny is making decision according to the dictate of your circumstances!

God does lead us by our circumstances; it would be fickle for Him to do that!

The most important quest for which every man must embark is finding God’s purpose for his life. Because those who do not know God’s purpose for their life will live as prisoners of circumstance!

It was the deep knowing of God’s purpose in the heart of Ruth that kept her from leaving old Naomi.

The circumstance Ruth found herself supported leaving Naomi.

Circumstance can move any of us out of God’s purpose if we do not have a deep conviction of God’s plan and will for us.

On the contrary, If Ruth had followed the circumstance of her life she would have followed Orpah and returned back to Moab and missed her destiny!

Ruth is an example to all of us that we must make decisions according to the purpose of God and never the dictate of our circumstance.

IF IT LOOKS GOOD IT MAY NOT BE GOD’S PURPOSE:

I discover that God often hides His treasure in trash! The door to great blessings are usually uninviting and unattractive.
Paul puts it this way, “God chose the lowly things of this world and the despised things…” 1 Corinthians 1:28

If you are in a circumstance that doesn’t look good, or if you are in a situation that irritates you; it may not be God’s will to move away from where you are or to change your circumstance!
It may be just what you need to enter your destiny (see 1Corinthians 7:17:20).

If you are reading this and there are places and people you are thinking of leaving now because it is not favorable to your circumstance (maybe you suffered loss, rejection and betrayal in that place).
Yet leaving that person or place maybe wrong because God’s purpose for your life is attached to that person!

In conclusion, Ruth is an ideal model for us living in the 21st century. She went along with something she did not understand. She stayed with a woman naturally speaking held no hope for her!

Ruth saw what most of us can’t see, which is, “If God is in a thing no matter how dead it may look we must not walk away from it.”

But most importantly, we must know what GOD’S purpose is for our lives, so that when we are given other options that looks nice we don’t accept it!

LIVING IN PROSPERITY

Then Peter said Silver and gold I do not have…” These were the words of Peter to a cripple man at the gate called Beautiful (see Acts 3). These words have supported the doctrine of poverty and encouraged Christians who have found comfort and home in poverty. They say to themselves, if Peter can say, he didn’t have silver and gold, it therefore means every Christians should not be prosperous or have money.

Taking a Cursory look at this verse is the origin of such myopic thinking of poverty. When I took a closer look at this verse I discovered something amazing. Peter didn’t say silver and gold WE do not have, even though he was standing with John. It therefore, means the statement, “Silver and gold I do not have”, was the personal conviction and circumstance of Peter and not John. The statement is therefore not a general conviction and circumstance. It was a situation Peter found himself, I think John had silver and gold if not Peter should have said silver and gold WE do not have!

  • SCRIPTURES SHOULD EXPLAIN SCRIPTURES

As a theologian and Bible scholar, I learned the fundamental truth that scriptures should explain scriptures.

Then Peter said Silver and gold I do not have…” Acts 3:6

The silver is mine, and the gold is mine, saith the LORD of hosts” Hag 2:8.

Comparing Acts 3:6 with Haggai 2:8

If Papa God has the silver and gold and I am his heir according to Galatians 4, why should I lack or say, “Silver and gold I do not have?” I may not have it circumstantially but in truth I have it. I must therefore, not settle for my circumstance but translate my circumstance into the truth that says “All things are mine.”

  • THE PURPOSE OF PROSPERITY

“The house that is to be builded for Jehovah must be exceeding magnificent, of fame and of glory throughout all countries…” 1 Chronicles 22:5 ASV

The church is in the Kingdom Age; our singular theme is the good news of the Kingdom. To be an effective representative and herald of the message of the Kingdom requires prosperity.

And this Good News about the Kingdom will be preached through all the world for a witness to all people; and then the end will come.

Jesus said the Good News of the Kingdom will be preached, which means we can’t shy away from it; it is our obligation to preach it. But you can’t preach about the Kingdom message in spiritual and financial poverty. The house we have been called to build for the Lord is exceeding magnificent, of fame and of glory throughout all countries. It is not possible with just a penny, or few thousands-It requires billions!!!

  • DAVID HAD GOD not MONEY IN HIS HEART

David told his son Solomon, “I had my heart set on building a temple for the name of the LORD, my God.

But the LORD spoke his word to me by saying, ‘You have caused a lot of bloodshed and fought in a lot of wars. You must not build a temple for my name because you have caused so much bloodshed in my presence.

You will have a son who will be a peaceful man. I will give him peace from all the enemies around him. His name will be Solomon [Peace], and in his time I will give Israel peace and quiet.  He will build a temple for my name. He will be my son, and I will be his father. I will establish the throne of his kingdom permanently over Israel” 1 Chronicles 22:7-10

  • SUPPORTING THE YOUNG AND INEXPERIENCED (1 CHRONICLES 22)

David, we all know according to scriptures as a man after God’s own heart. In his love and obsession for God he birthed a desire to build a house for the Lord. However, because he was a man of war and had shed blood God would not let him build the Temple for Him because the house of God is a spiritual thing. Instead, God chose Solomon his son as the candidate to build the Temple. David was not discouraged by this; that God wasn’t going to use him but rather prepared the required resources his son would need to build the House of God.

Most often God would call and use the young and inexperienced to build and execute a great vision. It is the role and duty of the old to support them in preparation for that work, by making adequate preparation before their departure. This was exactly what David for young Solomon.

Previous generations have squandered the resources the present generation would use to execute today’s vision because it was not them God chose to use!

I believe every believer must carry the same heart David had. Prosperity is not a tool for self aggrandizement or a means to perpetuate our greed and deceit, No! It is a tool to build the House of God. It is great wisdom to refuse prosperity if we know we have no purpose for it, because the Bible says, “Getting rich quick may turn out to be a curse” Pro 20:21.

Society grows when men plant trees whose shade they would never sit under.

David thought, “My son Solomon is young and inexperienced, and the temple that will be built for the LORD must be magnificent, large, famous, praised, and honored in all other countries. I’ll prepare the building materials for him.” So David prepared many materials for Solomon before he died (1Ch 22:5).

David was not afraid that Solomon would mismanage the abundant of prosperity being committed into his custody to build the House of God. Why? Because he knew quite well that those who have a purpose for prosperity will hardly mismanage it!  He only prayed for God’s wisdom and understanding for this young man who was about to experience great prosperity in the cause of building God’s house.

Solomon didn’t have to work so hard to acquire what he would need to build or execute the vision of God for him. He got it by inheritance. The next generations of leaders do not have to struggle to carryout their God given vision if this present generation of leaders begins to understand the importance of leaving an inheritance.

Some of those who will experience prosperity may not be called like David to build or even carryout a great assignment for the Lord. Nevertheless, with great wealth of prosperity at your disposal you can support those God have given a vision to build through your generous giving.

Like Solomon, Ndubuisi Eke Ministries International (NEMI) is divinely called by God to build for the LORD a house that must be magnificent, large, famous, praised, and honored in all other countries of the world!

I CHALLENGE  YOU TO SUPPORT THOSE WHO HAVE BEEN GIVEN THE CHARGE TO BUILD FOR THE LORD!!!

THE MYSTERY OF THE ONE TENTH

The Haiti earthquake shocked the whole world as it rendered families homeless another earthquake has struck Japan once again. But the difference this time is that we have all seen it and the devastating Tsunami that followed as pictures were beamed around the world. We have had a window on the mighty forces of nature and their ruthless impact on humanity like never before.

This should register a very important truth in our heart that unless I have my wealth anchored in something beyond the natural I am liable to be a victim of lives unfortunate moments.

It is impossible for God’s people not to be driven to pray for those affected!!!

Like Moses we pray, ‘Teach us to number our days so that we may gain a heart of wisdom’ (Ps 90:12).

As a Church we are committed to praying for those affected by this tragedy. By so doing we also remind ourselves that we must not let one day pass without making it count, living with an appropriate sense of urgency and purpose. Let not one day pass when we do not turn our hearts to heaven and pray for the lost and hurting humanity around us – and then move into action to be bringers of the hope and restoration only God offers.

This should remind us as a church of our role as ambassador of Christ. Ambassador’s resources comes from their nation. We must have enough heavenly resources to fund every earthly need. We are the compensation in the lives of those Satan has robbed of joy, peace, and prosperity.

Please join to pray…

Ndubuisi Eke

While in the school of God’s presence praying the word of the Lord came to me saying,” You will only get from Me what is really important to you.”

The Lord was challenging the lack of earnestness and fervency in my prayer. It wasn’t that my prayer was brief it was just that I was missing one essential ingredient.

Then I heard Him say again,”The prayer that does not touch you cannot touch Me.”

This began a turning point in my prayer ministry when I heard the Lord say the word “Earnest”
The… Lord showed me why James died and why apostle Peter almost died too and how Elijah could bring down rain!
